The ERC project EmergEd is lead by Prof. Nina Kolleck.

Nina Kolleck is political and educational researcher and full professor at the University of Potsdam.

Beyond the ERC grant she has received different awards such as the „Award for Research Cooperation and High Excellence in Science“ from the Max Planck Society and the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research).

Prior to her current position, she has held professorships at FU Berlin, RWTH Aachen, and Leipzig University. Additionally, she has served as a visiting professor at international institutions such as the University of California in Berkeley, the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Tel Aviv University.

Nina Kolleck is actively involved in the scientific community and serves as a member of various scientific advisory boards. She also provides guidance to federal ministries and acts as an anonymous reviewer for central funding organizations. Her research is supported by several funding organizations, including the DFG, BMBF, and ERC.

Research Focus

Professor Kolleck’s research profile is characterized by a comprehensive approach to questions of education and policy research with a strong focus on socialization, and social networks. Current thematic focuses include social inequality, (global) citizenship education, sustainable development, climate change education and global environmental governance. Her projects are funded by various funding institutions, such as the DFG (German Research Foundation) or the Max Planck Society.

She is member of various scientific advisory boards, advises different federal ministries, and acts as an anonymous reviewer for the central funding organizations (including DFG, BMBF).

She is chair of the Empirical Educational Research Section, a member of various scientific advisory boards, advises different federal ministries, and acts as an anonymous reviewer for the central funding organizations (including DFG, BMBF).

Results of her research have been published in the recognized political science and educational science books and journals, such as Journal of Education Policy, Journal of European Public Policy, Global Environmental Politics, Journal of Comparative Policy Analysis: Research and Practice, Environmental Education Research, Journal of Educational Administration, Journal of Environmental Education, or Educational Management Administration & Leadership, among others.
